64 million artists: refunk your junk. An experiment in recycling old CDs and jewellery. What I learned:

1. Stripping the backing off a CD is harder than the internet would have you believe.

2. How to use a Dremel.

3. I still can’t make decent wire coils.

Since January I’ve been following the Year of Stitches embroidery challenge – to work at least one stitch a day. I haven’t quite managed to embroider every day but overall I’ve done a lot more than the minimum 90 stitches.

I didn’t like the first piece I started, but managed to keep going with it until the end of February, when I began something else. But the other morning I remembered someone’s suggestion – if you don’t like it, paint it. So I did. And then I added some Quink ink, just for good measure.  I am now pondering whether to add some bleach, more stitch, or both. Watch this space.
